Q&A

1) Would FMV consider revising the 1100m-1300m requirement to
1400m?
Answer: No

2) What limitations does FMV expect to impose on the generation of
a panchromatic image from 4 separate full resolution R, G, B &
NIR bands?
Answer: The limit is 30cm1) spatial resolution. So, if a system does not
have a native panchromatic sensor with this resolution but do have R,
G,and B recording sensors, it is allowed to take the RGB composite
image and convert it to a “virituell” pan image with a gray scale that
simulates an image from a true panchromatic sensor and without loss
of detail.
1) The method of describing ground resolution in Open Skies differs a bit from the
traditional way which means that OS = Traditional GRDx2, meaning that OS 30
cm is actually GRD 60cm and translate well to the sensors GSD.

3) For 2500m-4000m configuration, is there any corresponding
cross-track coverage distance requirement?

Answer: The idea with a secondary altitude is to get a wider foot print
than from 1200 m. Nominally 4500m @ 3000m, however if a sensor is
close to this (say 4000m @ 3000m), this would probably be considered ok if the rest of the system fits the rest of the requirements.

4) Where in the range of 2500m-4000m would FMV prefer to the
system be configured?

Answer: Nominally around 3000m.

5) What other requirements are there for the system relative to the
control, processing and storage system; and specifically the need
to capture, record and publish metadata?

Answer: At this stage we only perform a survey of cameras that could
be possible for installation. In next stage, detailed requirements will be
set up for the camera and the post-processing system.

6) The FMV document # 409497 askes under item 3, the viewfinder
video camera should also be stabilized. To fulfill this requirement
could be done in by:
A. Mounted in combination with camera system into one
stabilized mount?

Answer: We think it is the simplest way, but looking at all
possible solutions.

B. Mounted separately and having its own stabilized platform?

Answer: Possible. We are looking at all possible solutions.

7) The stabilized mount is given from RMK Top and should be reused
for the new camera?
If so what type of mount is it? T-AS or ZI mount?

Answer: Today a T-AS is used.
Or a new mount is desired?
Answer: It not decided in this stage.

8) What are the aircraft installation constraints for the camera
system including payload bay and window dimensions including
details necessary to assess potential FOV obstruction?

Answer: At this stage we only perform a survey of cameras that could
be possible for installation. In next stage detailed requirements will be
set up for the camera such as the installation constraints.
