Omfattning
FMV has been asked by the Swedish Armed Forces to investigate a replacement for existing sea surveillance equipment at the Swedish Armed Forces live firing ranges located mainly around the Swedish coast.

Exercise and training is an important part of the Swedish Armed Forces activities and firing ranges are a prerequisite for these and therefore vital production resources for the defense. The sea surveillance system is a part of the actions to ensure that the exercises and training can be carried out safely for both civilians and the military, and without interference with physical and technical obstacle. The Swedish armed forces are exercising with sharp ammunition at all times of the year, in all light and visibility conditions and in all terrain types. This investigation is part of the investigation of what products the market has to offer to ensure that the Swedish Defense Armed Force's live firing ranges meet these requirements. The sea surveillance system at the live firing ranges is used to locate trespassing vessels (eg. ships, smaller boats and canoes) outside the fire range.

The products of interest can be both existing systems off-the-shelf and also new system that is ready for delivery from 2019.

Regarding par. 3.2.2 and in general the performances required for the system, since the values depend on the installation altitude and the weather conditions, we would like to know a range of values for the installation altitude and the average and worst scenarios for the weather conditions in which the radar will be used

The heights above sea level varies quite a lot between the different locations but a typical height is 15-25 m but there are locations were the height are 50 m or more.

The system will be used in all weather conditions that appear in Sweden.
